About TNO
The TNO (Training-Network Organisation Ltd) began life in 2002 as a loose association of independent learning & development professionals who regularly collaborated on significant projects with large global organisations in many different parts of the world.
In 2004, the TNO became a limited company focusing exclusively on the design, delivery and evaluation of learning & development services for leading global organisations.

Terry Hawes, Founder & MD of TNO, MSc, FCIB, Chartered Member CIPD Terry is a specialist in leadership, change management, organisational and management development, team working and individual talent development. He began his working career in banking with the Midland Bank progressing through a number of roles in retail & corporate banking marketing, operations and HR to become a Senior Training Manager in the early 1990’s |
As a consultant, Terry has worked with a wide range of different clients both in the UK and internationally in many different cultural contexts. In his role as a preferred supplier to the IFS (Institute of Financial Services), he has undertaken a number of significant learning and development contracts in emerging nations such as Ethiopia, Libya and Greece. Terry is a joint author of a Shareholder Value series of Books published by the Financial World. Tim Chapman, Founder & Director of TNO Tim is a highly successful organisation and people development consultant. He has worked extensively in large global businesses specialising particularly in the fields of strategic change, leadership, management & talent development. A law graduate from the University of Sussex, Tim followed an early career in HR management, industrial relations and training with Esso Petroleum in the UK. |
In the late 1980’s Tim moved on to become UK Banking Training Manager and latterly Training Development Director with Midland Bank at the point of the merger HSBC.
For the last fifteen years Tim has consulted widely with international organisations working in the UK, USA, China, the Middle East and Europe. During this period Tim has been a visiting lecturer with Manchester Business School and Programme Director for the Oxford University Business Economics Programme. Tim has worked extensively with senior executive teams in manufacturing, telecommunications, retail and financial services on a variety of leadership, team development and strategic change projects.
